Anti-wrinkle

What Is Anti-Wrinkle Treatment?

The twelve treatable areas - from frown lines to jawline slimming & underarm sweating

Anti-wrinkle treatment, commonly known as Botox, is a popular non-surgical cosmetic

procedure that uses botulinum toxin to temporarily relax specific facial muscles. By reducing muscle movement, it helps soften the appearance of fine lines, dynamic wrinkles, and crow’s feet, while also helping to prevent new expression lines from becoming deeper over time. Anti-wrinkles works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that cause targeted muscles to contract. As these muscles relax, the overlying skin appears smoother and more refreshed, creating a natural-looking result while preserving facial expression when performed correctly. The procedure is quick, with most appointments taking around 15–30 minutes, and involves minimal discomfort and little to no downtime. Most people can return to their normal daily activities immediately after treatment. Results typically begin to appear within 3–7 days, with the full effect developing after approximately 10–14 days. The results usually last 3–6 months, depending on the individual, the treatment area, and muscle activity. Regular maintenance treatments can help prolong the benefits and prevent wrinkles from becoming more pronounced over time.

Which area can be treated?

Anti-wrinkle treatments (Botox) can be used in a variety of facial and neck areas to soften expression lines, create a more refreshed appearance, and improve facial balance. The most commonly treated areas include frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet, while additional cosmetic applications include eyebrow lifting, bunny lines on the nose, upper lip (smoker’s) lines, dimpled chin, jawline slimming (masseter reduction), neck lines and neck bands, gummy smile correction, and downturned corners of the mouth. Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to treat excessive underarm sweating (hyperhidrosis) by reducing the activity of the sweat glands. Every treatment is individually tailored to your facial anatomy and desired outcome, aiming to achieve a natural, refreshed appearance while preserving normal facial expression. Results are temporary, typically lasting 3–6 months, with maintenance treatments recommended to maintain the desired effect.

What we can treat

Hyperhidrosis

(Excessive Sweating)

Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition that causes excessive sweating beyond what the body needs to regulate its temperature. It most commonly affects the underarms, palms of the hands, soles of the feet, and sometimes the face or forehead. Excessive sweating can interfere with daily activities, damage clothing, affect work and social situations, and have a significant impact on confidence and quality of life.

Anti-wrinkle injections (Botox) are a highly effective, non-surgical treatment for hyperhidrosis. Rather than relaxing muscles, the treatment works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals that stimulate the sweat glands, significantly reducing sweat production in the treated area. This allows patients to stay drier and more comfortable without affecting the body’s normal ability to regulate temperature elsewhere.

Anti-Wrinkle Treatment- Other Areas

On the Day of Your Appointment

Please help your practitioner by avoiding strong perfume, aftershave, or heavily scented body products, as fragrances may trigger sensitivities or allergies. If possible, refrain from smoking and consuming alcohol on the day of your treatment. Children are not permitted in the treatment room to ensure a safe and distraction-free environment. Companions are welcome; however, please let us know in advance, as some treatment rooms have limited space.

For the safety and wellbeing of everyone in the clinic, we reserve the right to postpone or decline treatment if strong fragrances create a health concern or prevent the practitioner from safely carrying out the procedure.

Travel Advice

Changes in cabin pressure may theoretically cause injected products to migrate from the original site, potentially resulting in an undesirable or asymmetrical appearance. While current literature suggests that waiting 24–48 hours post-treatment before flying makes this risk negligible, we advise staying local for 1–2 weeks following injectable treatments wherever possible

Before your aesthetic procedure, consider taking an over-the-counter antihistamine to help reduce swelling, bruising or another reaction if appropriate for you. Always consult your pharmacist to ensure it is safe alongside any medications or medical conditions. However please follow your practitioner’s pre-treatment advice and inform us of any health concerns before your appointment.

Make-up & Contact Lenses

Please attend your appointment with clean skin and, where possible, avoid wearing make-up on the treatment area. This helps reduce the risk of contamination and allows your practitioner to properly assess your skin. If your treatment involves the eye area, we recommend removing contact lenses before your appointment and bringing your glasses if needed.

Skincare Routine Adjustment

Refrain from using any creams, lotions, serums, oils, or skincare products on the treatment area on the day of your procedure. Arrive with clean skin that is completely free from makeup, fake tan, oils, or other residues.

Sun Protection

Minimise sun exposure for 48–72 hours before your appointment. Sunburned, tanned, or recently peeled skin can compromise both safety and effectiveness. If the treatment area will be exposed to sunlight before your arrival, apply a broad-spectrum SPF 50.

Hydration

Stay well-hydrated in the 24–48 hours leading up to your procedure. Hydrated skin responds better to treatment and heals faster.

Medications & Supplements

For injectable treatments — including *Anti-Wrinkle, Dermal Filler, Aqualyx, Profhilo, and Skin Booster & Polynucleotides* — avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, and ginkgo biloba for 5–7 days prior to your appointment, unless these have been prescribed by your doctor. If you are unsure, please contact the clinic for guidance.

Alcohol & Lifestyle

Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment — and for 48 hours prior to *Anti-Wrinkle, Dermal Filler, Aqualyx, Profhilo, and Skin Booster & Polynucleotides*. Avoid strenuous exercise immediately before your appointment.

For *Aqualyx*, eat a light meal before your appointment.

Dietary Advice (Before & After Your Cosmetic Procedure)

To minimise the risk of unnecessary inflammation or allergic reactions, we recommend avoiding foods that you know may trigger allergies or sensitivities for at least 3 days before and 3 days after your cosmetic procedure. Where possible, also avoid very spicy foods during this period, as they may increase flushing or inflammation in some individuals.

Clothing & Accessories

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the treatment area. Remove all jewellery, watches, or accessories from or near the treatment area before your appointment.

For *Micro-Sclerotherapy, wear loose trousers or bring shorts to change into.

For **Fungal Nails Laser Treatment*, bring clean socks.
