Before and After

  • Can I get waxed when my period comes?
Yes, but it is better to get your wax during the first 2 weeks after your cycle. Your sensitivity is much lower during this time, so it will be more comfortable.
  • I have a hormonal condition which means I get excess body hair, is this a problem?
This is much more common than you think! People get waxes for various reasons. One reason is to remove body hair due to health conditions. Your beautician has years of experience. They are more interested in ensuring your satisfaction and comfort than in your condition!
  • What is high frequency?
High Frequency is a painless treatment used to reduce inflammation and eliminate bacteria which lead to an array of skin issues and discomfort. These can include; ingrown hairs, acne breakouts, fine lines and wrinkles, enlarged pores, spots, heightened skin sensitivity and other skin problems. High Frequency treatments tackle these issues by promoting healthy blood circulation, stimulating collagen production, strengthening nutrient supply, relaxing muscles, and relieving tension and pain in the body. High Frequency is highly recommended to those who struggle with skin issues, weakened nerves (Neurasthenia) and headaches.
  • How does High Frequency Work?
The machine uses a glass high frequency electrode and works with the contours of the body and face. When applied to the skin, a mild electrical current passes through the electrode and causes a subtle glow and buzzing noise. During the treatment, enriched oxygen molecules are produced and the benefits of the treatment are in full effect. The body will release a “natural” thermal tissue warming reaction which helps your blood vessels flush out toxins whilst simultaneously enriching your skin cells with nutrients and hydration. These reactions promote cell renewal, blood circulation and increased elastin and collagen production.
  • The history behind High Frequency...
In the late 1800’s, renowned scientist Nikola Tesla developed the first High Frequency appliance which was referred to as the “Violet Ray”. This appliance was solely used for medical purposes (including the treatment of strep throat, infections and to speed up the healing of wounds) despite the other possible functions. In 1892, French biophysicist Jacques-Arsène d’Arsonval introduced the use of high frequency currents to treat diseases of the skin and mucous membranes after working in the area of Electrotherapy. It was only until the 1970’s when people discovered the cosmetic benefits of the electrical stimulation and within a few years, the technology was deemed a very safe and non-invasive approach to skincare and was used worldwide.
  • What is a Brazillian Wax?
A treatment that removes all pubic hair except for a thin strip in the middle. This is quick and clean. After the wax, the skin is left soft and fresh, and there is no need to shave for a few weeks.
  • What is a Hollywood Wax?
A treatment that removes ALL hair from the pubic area. The client will receive the same benefits aforementioned.
  • Does waxing hurt?
The sensation is similar to removing a plaster or being slapped with a plastic ruler: a momentary ouch! This quickly fades, and most clients find that the discomfort is nowhere near as bad as they had imagined. It is also worth mentioning that it gets easier with each subsequent waxing.
