Aqualyx is a non surgical way of shaping the body.
It is a compound solution from the deoxycholate family that has been physically modified and, by creating a slow release sugar-based system, the biological half-life is reduced which results in minimal side effects.
Aqualyx uses a synthetic form of this acid that is derived from plant-based ingredients, so it is safe to use in the body. The treatment is injected and targets and melts away stubborn pockets of fat on the body.
Once the fat cells have weakened, they will be absorbed by the body and eventually excreted. It is a lot less invasive than liposuction and doesn’t require any anaesthesia.
Aqualyx is a very valuable addition to the range of treatments that is offered to my clients for the removal of stubborn pockets of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise.
Your results from Aqualyx will show after 1-2 sessions but more may be needed.

Preparation
To avoid and minimise any swelling and bruising and recover as quickly as possible we recommend to follow ours suggestions: Drink a lot of water to help flush away the unwanted fat aqualyx will breakdown for you. If you are not good with water intake, i suggest you get into habit to drink water in a good amount daily to achieve an excellent result. (taking 500ml as soon as you wake up is a good start). The week leading up to your aqualyx treatment, it is imperative to stay hydrated and drink more water than you normally do. It is important to hydrate. Drinking plenty of water helps to hydrate your skin and create better results. Water, water and water… Avoiding any blood thinners e.g. aspirin, vitamin E, herbal supplements and tea may you concern about the composition. Thin blood increase chance of bruising. We recommend take arnica tablets 5 days prior to the treatment. Talk with pharmacist about it. Avoid access of alcohol for 3 days prior and after treatment. If possible, we ask that you come to your session with little to no makeup. This means your practitioner has a clear base to work with and no impurities are on the skin. We recommend NOT to eat spicy foods and caffeine during the week leading up to your appointment. These will increase skin sensitivity. Avoid using exfoliating products at least 3 days before. Avoid experimenting with new facial and body products and changing your skin routine (if you have one).
Post-treatment
Aftercare
Drink plenty of fluids after treatment, you should aim for at least 2 litres per day. If the area is tender, you can use simple over the counter pain killers such as paracetamol. Avoid makeup for 24 hours and any creams or skin oils, this will reduce the risk of infection at the injection sites. A cold compress may help with swelling. Eating a healthy diet and doing regular physical exercise will help to speed up fat loss and limit new fat gain. We recommend avoiding excess alcohol, caffeine and spicy foods for 48 hours after treatment. Trying to reduce alcohol and caffeine consumption to help prevent dehydration, it will also contribute to quicker fat cell elimination that aqualyx has broken. Avoid sunbeds, swimming, UV light and saunas until the initial skin redness and swelling has settled. Avoid any perfumes, fake tan or other harsh chemicals for 72 hours after treatment. Avoid rubbing or picking the treated area. Avoid any skin exfoliation for 72 hours following treatment. Avoid any further cosmetic treatments e.g. Botox or dermal filler for 2 weeks following treatment, or ask your practitioner for advice. Avoid any hair removal treatments such as waxing for 2 weeks after treatment. You must contact your practitioner as soon as possible if you notice any other unwanted side effects.

Can I resume my day after my normal activities?
Yes. You can resume your normal daily activities after fat dissolving treatment
Will I get any bruising or swelling?
Immediately after your treatment you may notice some redness, swelling, tenderness and a sore sensation in the treated area, as well as numbness from the local anaesthetic. These symptoms generally improve significantly over the next few days or even in a few hours.
What is Aqualyx® used for?
It used for Aqualysis treatment to reduce localised, stubborn fat deposits in areas such as the chin, stomach, outer and inner thighs, hips, knees etc.
How quickly will I see results?
A reduction in fat deposits can usually be seen after just one treatment, however between three and eight sessions are required to see the optimal effect in large area. The speed at which results are seen will vary depending on the stability of the cell membranes; younger patients are more likely to results after a longer period. Results may vary from physician to physician and case by age.
Who is the treatment suitable for?
It is suitable for patients who do not want the more invasive liposuction or laser lipo treatments, who do not have large amounts of fat to remove and who are over 18 years and under 60 years of age. The treatment is not suitable for pregnant or lactating women or those with a pathological condition.
Is the treatment suitable for overweight patients as a weight loss method?
No, Aqualyx and Aqualysis are aimed at reducing stubborn pockets of fat and specific areas treated therefore, Aqualyx is not recommended for those who want weight loss.

Please take whatever steps necessary to ensure you are punctual for your appointment. Our schedule means late arrivals will reduce your treatment time. Please note appointments will be cancelled without a return of deposit should a patient arrive more than half an hour late.

As a responsible and licensed practitioner, we will refuse treatment should we believe medical intervention is required. In this instance, we will return the deposit or full payment and recommend you visit a medical practitioner.

All single treatments and packages must be paid for in advance.

A face-to-face consultation will be provided free-of-charge prior to any treatment.

This consultation can include a patch test (at a cost of £50) to provide more information should you choose. This amount will be deducted from the treatment cost if you proceed with us.

Cancellations should be made at least 48hrs prior to your treatment. Please note we will charge £30 on top of your appointment costs if this is not met.

We do not provide refunds for treatments or courses of treatment. With a minimum of 7-days notice, you will be able to change the area or type of treatment mid-course should you choose.

All courses should commence within 14-days of the consultation and we insist on no more than 14-days between each treatment.
